Turning Dirty Paws

Into Dapper Dogs

My Story

My name is Mikala, and I have been grooming since 2017.

I apprenticed for a well known shop on the Missouri side, and eventually ventured off to other places. I have always worked in the animal industry, as it is my passion. Since I was a kid, I have had a deep connection with animals, and pride myself in the patience and love I hold for every single one.

A few things that make me unique is that I offer pet hair dye, nail polish art, hand handstripping, and asian fusion cuts.

I also specialize in “difficult dogs”, meaning any dog that isn’t accustomed to grooming fully. This could mean aggression, anxiety, fearful/nervous, etc. I’ve got lots of clients that I work with their dogs to get them use to the grooming process, and use to me. It often helps the dogs to see the same person every time so they know what to expect. Unfortunately, this does not mean that I have a magic wand. Helping your pet does not happen overnight. It is often a process. This all depends on the severity of your pets issues. If there are ever any issues where I don’t think the groom can be completed, I will call you asap and discuss other options. It is very important to me that the dogs enjoy the groom as much as possible.

All Fluffed Up is located inside The Wellness Shop For Dogs. The Wellness Shop For Dogs is a women/people of color run business. We pride ourselves in giving your dog the best care, and selling the best products for your pets.

All Fluffed Up has been a dream of mine for years. I am so proud to be able to give your pet the quality care they deserve.

Meet My Pets

  • Wednesday

Loyal and loving, Wednesday is my partner in crime. She is a 7 year old Doberman, and I’ve had her since she was 8 week old. You will often see her sweet and sassy self in the salon with me.

  • Duke

Talk about a couch potato! Duke is a gentle giant. His best friend is my four year old son. We found Duke wondering the streets, and took him in. His favorite thing to do is eat and sleep.

  • Lotus

This girl will keep you on your toes! Lotus came into the salon as a dog for adoption. She was getting cleaned up to hopefully attract an adopter… Well, she did… it was me. She was chained up outside with a belly full of animal bones trying to support her puppies. Luckily they arrested the man responsible for her treatment. She has been in heaven ever since she realized she could sleep inside AND in a bed. We love her dearly.

  • Hopper

Hopper lost his partner to cancer, and needed fresh start. Of course I couldn’t turn him down. He is a 5 year old English Spot rabbit. Hopper has attitude for days, loves to eat, and loves to cuddle his mommy.

  • Samurai & Tachi

Samurai and Tachi were a birthday surprise for my son’s 3rd birthday. Although they are fish, they have become a part of the family just like the rest.
